Why Every Student Needs a Bullet Journal

Now I don’t know about you all, but when I was a student, it was tough to keep on top of everything. Homework, revision, exams, extracurricular activities etc. There’s a lot to remember and do. It can feel incredibly overwhelming. Now, this is where a bullet journal can be useful.

I think a lot of people have this misconception that a bullet journal is just somewhere for you to write down your plans for the day. I should make it clear that it can be used for that. Of course it can. But with a little bit of creativity, a bullet journal can be used to help you keep track of everything surrounding school, college, university etc.

So how can this be done? Let me tell you.

Never Forget a Deadline

Do you ever feel like deadlines have this wonderful habit of appearing sooner than expected? That happened to me all the time. Assignments, homework, you name it. A bullet journal gives you the capacity to see what’s coming up. This can be done through a monthly calendar, particularly a specific one aimed for deadlines. If you like everything to be combined, perhaps using symbols or colours for different deadlines will be more suitable for you!

Plan Your Revision

I can’t lie, I could do a specific post purely on how to use a bullet journal to plan your revision so I will keep this brief. I know revision can become quickly overwhelming, particularly when there are several exams.

Like I said, there are many ways to plan your revision. You could create a study timetable, create a tracker that allows you to tick off the different revision tools you might need for each exam. You can even use a bullet journal for blurting if you wanted. A bullet journal is perfect for doing what you want it to do. If you need it so you’ve got somewhere to write down everything you know, use it for that. You can!

Create Study Trackers

This is linked to the previous point somewhat.

We all know that bullet journals are perfect for trackers. I’ve got a ridiculous amount in my bullet journal already. Therefore, creating a study tracker seems perfect for any student. You can keep track of what you’re studying, how much you’re studying and look for any gaps where you might not studying as much!

Keep Your Student Life in One Place

One of my favourite things about using a bullet journal is you can keep different pieces of information together. Your bullet journal doesn’t have to just be dedicated for revision and deadlines. You can also use it to keep track of exam dates, create an essay guidance tracker, make note of reading lists and create academic goals for the new year. There are so many ways to use a bullet journal if you’re a student.

I have barely scratched the surface when it comes to this topic area. If you would like to see actual spreads instead of just me explaining everything to you, feel free to reach out to me on Instagram and I’ll start making these spreads to show you!

Thanks for reading!
